What are your best blog posts of 2016?

ZMB Best Blogs 2016

2016. Wow. It’s been a tough year.

But we’re not going to talk about that, are we? Instead we at ZmG HQ are concentrating on the good things, the brilliant things, the BEST things, and invite you (Yes, YOU!) to share your favourite blog posts of 2016.

Wait till you see what we’ve got as an incentive, a carrot on a stick if you will, to lure you and entice you to join in. Well Zeit My Geist! Anyone heard of Alexa?

Link up something you’ve written, something you’re proud of, something you’ve won an award for, something that, as the stars aligned and the wind caught your mainsail, you happened to find the right words for, for once! Something funny, something rude, something thought-provoking, moving or something you got lots of comments for or something you got NO comments for but feel deserved some, and…

…it can be on any subject! We at ZmG Towers welcome anything and everyone. We love reading new blogs, and want your posts to reach new readers, a new audience, and would love to help you make lovely shiny new friends at the tail end of a right old annus horribilis.

Want to join in? Of course you do. So:

Link up your best post, or one by someone else, which has made you smile, think, cry or you just like looking at.
Once you’ve done that tweet us @ZeitMyGeistblog using the hashtag #ZMGBestPosts2016 and we’ll tweet you far and wide!
Is there an incentive? Indeedy. The post which we at ZmG decide is our favourite, wins an amazing Amazon Echo Dot.

You can linky linky your blog posts until 11.59pm (GMT) on January 31st 2017. The winner will be contacted by Twitter DM on February 13th, and announced on February 14th 2017.

What a brilliant idea! I’ve linked up the post that has got the biggest reaction, it also happens to be the one that took years to getting around to writing. xx

No awards for my link but one of my most read posts of 2016. I’m proud of it because I’m proud of the recipe, it’s brilliant but not only is it tasty, it is gluten free, cheap as chips and vegan. Absolutely ideal if you’re a student cooking for friends. I’m also really proud of the styling and photography.

Lovely idea to do this. Thank you!

I have only recently started my blog. It has been a way for me to keep my brain ticking over, share my thoughts and self-indulge a little, whilst on maternity leave. But I have discovered a complete love for blogging, and as more people have read my blog, I have found it more exciting and rewarding. This latest post linked above, my most personal and emotional one to write, has had almost 300 views and I am blown away by that. I know it is small fry in the blogging world but for me it is huge. It seems to have evoked a lot of emotion in others. I am so grateful that friends have taken the time to read and appreciate my writing, and I hope I find a way to share it more widely. I am sure this linky will help that. Thanks x

Good for you! I’ve always seen blogging as free therapy, but I’m glad you enjoy putting your thoughts into words, and feel that doing so is rewarding. Thanks for joining in, and we look forward to reading more of your posts.

most of my posts this year have been book reviews, but occasionally I digress. This one is about tuna sandwiches and amused me probably more than it ought.

After only blogging for just a couple of months now I have found it so rewarding. I have been wanting to write for a long time and either not had the time, or the head space. I realised at one point that the person getting in the way of blogging was me, and so after having a good strong word with myself, here I am. This post was written just before Christmas when I had began my journey in blogging and had to take a break due to being needed in a big way at work helping several children try to come to grips with loosing a parent. It was harsh. It made me look at my life in a very different way, hence the post. Hope you take something from it.

Thanks for joining in. I’m glad you enjoy blogging. Long may you do so! The key to it is to try to make it fun, or just see it as an outlet for your creative talents. Sometimes people feel they have to cram in so much, do posts on this and that, and fixate on statistics. Doing so makes it feel like a chore. Just enjoy it, and write what you like. As long as it comes from the heart you can never be wrong.

This is such a lovely idea.

Although to many the post I added won’t mean to much but it did to me.

    Happy 2017 🙂

What a brilliant idea! My favourite posts are always the more personal ones and even though they sometimes fall on deaf ears (!) I still love writing them. My favourite post of last year has to be ‘Twenty two things that I love about Mr Mostly’ which was written in celebration of our anniversary.
