New Year. New Phase.

Firstly, Hi! This is my First ZmG post for 2017 and it feels good. Its really nice to be back after what has been a mental busy 8 weeks or so. Hence, I’ve truly been the worst blogger on the planet of late. I guess its just that with all the best will in the world, sometimes life with 4 children and various fingers in various pies all over the various place makes life, well, varied … as well as unpredictably busy.

Anyway, excuses excuses. I’m back. And I’ve got a about a trillion and one plans for the new year; so this little diary based factoid got me to thinking – I LOVE January so much.

And February.

And March – March is when things really start to get beautiful.

April is when things begin to warm up a little.

And May? Don’t get me started on May. May is awesome, Its got two bank holidays in it for a start.

Then we arrive into June when Summer really starts to kick-in, swiftly followed by July and August, which of course represent HOLIDAYS! Lovely, lovely holidays.

And so this is the main reasons why I like being right here. Right now: The 6th January.

We are all at this years very beginning point folks, which means that unless you’ve had an extremely naughty 6 days doing all-sorts of unmentionable things, the chances are you have a nice, squeaky clean slate? You. Me. We can do anything we want to do with the year, literally anything is possible.

So whilst I have got some fairly hefty personal and professional goals for the year to work towards, first things first, like the rest of the world, I’m using this little ‘pre-spring/summer’ window of opportunity to quietly work away on my fitness. Because whilst I’m reasonably fit ish already, I want MORE fitness. More firmness. More tautness. More perkiness! of course I do. I want to get stronger, leaner, and learn so much more about nutrition –  2017 is going be my healthiest year yet. Because like they say – use it, or lose it. (by the way, If this kind of thing interests you, I have just started a dedicated health and fitness Instagram account HERE. Its going to be a very real account. No filters, no staging. No Insta-nonsense!)

Anyway, so far, to keep my fitness goals on course – I’ve decided to take part in another 3 Peaks challenge this Summer (I did the national one last year and it was brilliant) And I’ve also booked to do Tough Mudder in London this May – In case you’re not familiar, Tough Mudder is a 12 mile run with 20 obstacles including Ice, water, tunnels, Monkey bars, MUD (obviously) and electric shocks of all things! I’m really looking forward to it. Bizarrely. Check it out HERE if you think you’re hard enough 😉

Let me see, what else? Well, I’m working on a possible product launch of my own (I will be able to talk about that on here very soon). My husband and I have some cool possibilities on the horizon (Which I also can’t talk about yet), and as for ZmG, well, let me tell you – Its all happening! Spencer and I have a whole heap of ideas for the coming months (which he touches on in his post from last night HERE) and I plan to dedicate 3/4 full days each week to the site. I know, I know, I’ve been promising this level of dedication to the blog for ages, But I’ve never really as well placed to do it as I am right now.

I’m going to also be working with the wonderful @bangonstyle, an amazing fashion blogger photographer who photographs some of the best in the industry (That was a total ‘pinch myself moment’ when she agreed to work with little old me!) So together with some of my favourite brands, we can create some really good quality Friday Stylefinder posts, sharing amazingly beautiful, current season fashion (to suit normal budgets, and normal people!) … which leads me beautifully on to Spencer’s brainchild – We are going to turn Friday Stylefinder into a fashion linky. This means everyone can link up their fashion posts, giving ZmG readers a real fashion frenzy megapost to get their teeth into each Friday.

… Speaking of Spencer, I must take this opportunity to say how wonderful it was working with him last year. He is such a breath of fresh air, and always so bloody hilarious. I feel so fortunate to have snared him as our resident ‘bloke’ (er, I mean professionally secured his dad blogging/writing) and I’m really, really looking forward to reading all that he has to offer this year. Bad back or no bad back, that dude inspires, helps, and generally rocks this blogsite, time and time again. So from the bottom of my Metatags, thank you Spencer.

I must now dash, as I have a bombsite house to tidy up, a load of washing to put on, and a quick run to reward myself with before school pick-up. (using my Couch to 10k App. which is amazing by the way.)

So come on now lovely readers, Its January, Its time to think about all that blossoming and blooming 🙂

Anna x

Wow it sounds like you have a very busy year planned out! Good luck with it! I must confess I am not a fan of January (I should hibernate) but I am already looking forward to the lighter warms days in spring. I love the ‘nothing blooms all year’ I really must remember that – clearly I am not a winter flower – and that’s ok!
