With the summer holidays just around the corner, I thought it might be nice to share some of my favourite holiday purchases from the past week with you.

Whether you and I share the same sartorial taste or not, I think the principles of packing a good, well devised holiday suitcase remain completely universal – You want to pack flexible items which can be easily mix and matched, that way you don’t have to take too much with you.

Personally, I love to pack super-light. Maybe its because having 4 children has always meant a lot of ‘stuff’, I’m not so keen on ‘stuff’, so I like to be as thrifty with my personal quantities of clothing as possible. I don’t want to be too bogged down with luggage or bags, nor do I want too much overwhelming choice whilst I’m away – I like to keep things simple and low maintenance. Saves on the washing afterwards too!

The following items on my packing list can be compressed into even the tiniest of piles for the tiniest of bags, and will allow tons of outfit variations too …

Shown below are some of my favourites from this weeks shopping trip.

Each item listed underneath the photos in yellow writing, serve also as a direct link to the item if you click on it, everything was purchased this past week so is available to snap-up right now if you wish, but you’ll need to be super quick ; before we know it, summer clothing will be reduced to the crazy busy and hectic sale rails to make way for the Autumn collections.

Before we start, I just want to add that I am clearly NOT  a model, nor am I trying to be. The purpose of these Friday Stylefinder posts is to show and reflect clothes available today, on a normal person, with a normal body; in a normal everyday situation. Therefore I promise not to pose or pout too much! (ok, there might be a little bit of posing. But I will try to keep it light!)

Ok. here we go.

first up, a great skirt by ASOS. I loved its versatility so much that I got it in white and black too. Its super, super soft, and I can imagine it being a great skirt for a variety of uses: Lounging at home, beaching, pool-siding, dressing-up for evening etc, etc. It really is a great little skirt.

As you can see, I’m having trouble choosing the best shoes …

The top is from Mango, only £7.99 and again, I’d chuck this on with anything.

Next is my chosen Maxi-dress…

DRESS.
(I think I’m actually way too short for a maxi-dress. They tend to swamp me a bit, but I like them anyway)

Its by Anna Sui for O’Neil and feels like a perfect mix of boho and surf-chic. I cant wait to float around in it!

Now, how about some fancy-pants shorts?

LACE EDGED SHORTS. SHOES

(the shoes are on sale at the mo in Office at £14 – they are way more comfortable than Birkies too, just sayin’!)

and the lovely shorts come in black too … perfect for the evening, as or shown here, a great travel/day outfit.

SHORTS. CARDIGAN. SHOES. T.SHIRT

The oversized cardi is really lovely, a good piece that will work well right into winter, but the cropped sleeves make it great to take along on a summer holiday – great for the plane and throwing on during cooler evenings.

And finally, perhaps my most favoured item – The designer one-piece swimsuit. Oooh, don’t mind If I do!

IMG_6886

Never in my life have I even tried a one-piece before, almost always opting for a string bikini instead.

However, I’ve noticed so many around in the shops nowadays. So I decided to have a little dabble this year.

Its a bit special.

Its absolutely beautiful, and feels ever so glamorous to wear. (it also feels far, far sexier than a bikini, bizarrely?)

(I had just about got my head around the fact that I was going to show you a full-length shot of me wearing it, Yep, I was going to go through with it, when my husband stepped in and vetoed any notion of my posing in swimwear online!)

Oh well, Just know that it looks GOOOOD (It must be good, as never in a million years would I have felt any urge what-so-ever to share my swimwear with ANYONE !!)

Its very flattering to the figure, and keeps you all safe and secure!

This picture got the go-ahead, so you get the general idea ..

MARA HOFFMAN HARVEST CUT-OUT SWIMSUIT.   WRAP SKIRT.

(click on the link to see a model doing it justice)

Truth be told, this little beauty of a swimsuit feels so good on, that I really do feel like a million dollars in it. I literally cant wait to wear it.  The quality and integrity of this piece is un-deniable and therefore worth every last penny. Heck, It makes me feel like Goldie Hawn in Overboard!

And there we have it, my Summer holiday haul.

Did you see anything you fancy?
