For the past decade, I’ve been resisting the urge to buy into the new skincare ‘must have’, or ‘Zeitgeist’ addition to my already extensive, expensive and time-consuming skincare routine. Serum – now we are supposed to buy Serum. On top of everything else. We are all already cleansing, toning, moisturising, eye-treating, scrubbing, masquing and Argo oiling it up, right? Surely that’s enough; surely that will keep horrendous complexions and the dreaded ageing at bay? Nope. Its not enough, ladies. Now you need to add a (often very expensive) serum into our daily mix. Applied after cleansing, and just before moisturising, it is designed to ‘boost’…

Happy Friday lovely people! … (I’m always very tempted to write ‘Happy Friday Y’all’ … what is with that? I’m from Brighton not Tennessee!) I’ll stick with my roots and just use ‘Hello’. So anyway, Hello! Its Friday. Its freezing. What a surprise! therefore, instead of the lovely white short and top combo I planned to show you, I am instead digging out the old 70 deniers, together with a nice soft woolly scarf. (Again, another apt reminder that this is April in England NOT Tennessee) ‘Smart tailoring meets playful’ in this lovely shirt dress from Topshop, and is just bang-on for smart casual…

OH MY GOD, I LOVE THIS SKIRT! Hello, by the way. Happy Friday 🙂 Lets just get straight on with this, shall we? What do you think?     Firstly, lets address my shoe choice: Basically, If I team something with the old Loubs, then you know that I for one, think its right up there. I don’t very often get the Loubs out you see. They are way too special. (Which makes them the most pointless shoe purchase in history because I never wear them. Ever.)     This is the Lilford front split skirt, and is made out…

Happy Friday 🙂 This week, I wanted to show my current favourite outfit: My stripy grey red combo! I love red (as you know by now) And I love grey. And I love stripes. In fact, I’m willing to bet that there isn’t a 30 something mum out there who doesn’t love at least one of these elements? I’ve featured these shoes so many times on the site now, that you may well be sick of seeing them, but I still love them – Real love never dies. I’m quite sure I will still be loving them hard in 20 years…

Along with red shoes (Can you tell?) I’ve a thing for Blue. Blue patterns in particular. So imagine my joy at reading in countless fashion magazines this month that blue is set to ‘have its moment’ 🙂 And as I stand here, in my mirror, marvelling at a blue sky wearing a blue skirt with the blue patterned cushions on my bed, I also see from my bedside table that my allegiance to all things blue and patterny has reigned strong for a little while now … (So has my love of Walberswick in Suffolk!) And what’s even cooler, is that this season, designers…

Some months ago, whilst sitting in a local beer garden in the late summer of last year (after a fair few pints I imagine!) some friends and I decided that it would be a mighty good idea to do The National Three Peaks Challenge this year  … And so, out came the diaries and the scratching of heads. The “hmm’s” and the “Er, how hard will this be exactly?” quandaries… and a few “ok. how hard will the training be?” queries. But a further group meeting at my house to discuss the intricacies of such a challenge on a National scale (over more wine) was all it took to…

I mean, I’ve got loads of favourite products from France obviously, But these are my two most commonly purchased ones: the ones I stock up on every time we go (Which, because my husband is half-French, is about 7/8 times per year) along with wine (obvs) and Coffee. I give you – the finest handsoap ever to don your sinks edge! I line my own cupboards with these here bottles, and I give them to friends too. Nowadays, such is their popularity in my village, that I tend to have friends text me their orders and neighbours stop me in the…

After just a little over year of blogging outfits on ZmG’s #FridayStylefinder post, I wanted to do a write an explanation of sorts. A conclusion, if you will. So, question: do I choose to write about fashion because I’m an expert; a qualified stylist; a total legend in the style stakes? God NO! and nor do I, for any amount of cotton-pickin’ seconds think that that I posses any particular flair for the subject. I just love it is all. And that’s all there is to it really – That’s the only reason I write these posts. I guess one of the perks…

Happy Good Friday all! I hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend … But first… This. The Mock Collar! Have you got one?  If not, then flippin’ get one, they are a must for everyone’s wardrobe, and once purchased will be good for decades … DECADES I tell thee! Voila I got it last week from Cos in Brighton at £29 – they do a few different styles – The one I have here, a blue and white striped one, and one with scalloped edges. Its not a real shirt obviously. Instead its much like a baby bib giving the illusion of one.…

I can’t help it, I have to write a post about breastfeeding after the utter outcry exhibited by disgruntled women up and down the land … Not that I am right about everything. But after breastfeeding 4 babies, twice successfully, and twice unsuccessfully, I definitely feel I have earned an opinion on the matter, for what its worth. First of all, Breast is best. Suck it up sisters! … must we pretend this isn’t the case? really? are we all that sensitive? This is classic UK attitude at play. Again. (We don’t want a nanny state, but we need and expect to be nannied…
